MAKING GOOD EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL IS SIMPLE. ALL YOU NEED IS FRESH OLIVES AND 100 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.
We add love, patience, knowledge, vision, and a constant desire to do better.
And it is precisely with these values that our Bartolomei family, the generations that preceded us, decided to start making extra virgin olive oil in their homeland, Umbria, a region that has always produced excellent oils.
This is our story. Discover it by reading the rest of this page, or even better, we’ll tell it to you in person if you decide to come visit us.
Antonio Bartolomei (1890):
Our story began in 1890 with Antonio Bartolomei, the founder of the family olive oil mill. With passion and dedication, Antonio planted deep roots in the soil, creating a tradition of extra virgin olive oil production that has continued to this day.

Luigi Bartolomei and Argene (30's):
In the 1930s, our grandfather Luigi, along with his wife Argene, a farsighted woman with a passion for farming, ran the mill with care and attention. Their dedication consolidated the quality of Bartolomei extra virgin olive oil, strengthening the bond with our land and family.
Vincenzo Bartolomei (70's):
In the 1970s, Vincenzo spearheaded a decisive turning point for the Bartolomei olive mill. He decided to move the mill from the town center to a new, larger and more technologically advanced location in the countryside. There, he developed the area’s first continuous-cycle olive oil mill, switching from traditional presses to an innovative decanter. This step allowed for improved oil quality, optimizing production processes in a sustainable manner. Vincenzo also conceived the idea for the Oil Museum, a unique project in the area dedicated to the history and promotion of extra virgin olive oil.

Today Carla, Rita, Pierluigi and Chiara
Bartolomei (2000's):
In early 2000, Vincenzo’s three siblings, Carla, Pierluigi, and Rita, brought new energy and youthful enthusiasm to the family mill. Their projects were new, ambitious, and coherent: they planted new olive groves to enhance the local area and produce high-quality, innovative, and uniquely flavorful extra virgin olive oils.
They modernized the production facility for more sustainable and efficient production. The hospitality project begun with the Olive Oil Museum also continued. In 2014, a Restaurant & Oleoteca opened in Orvieto, a venue entirely dedicated to extra virgin olive oil, combining culture and cuisine.
Today, in 2026, Chiara represents the fifth generation of the family. With a contemporary vision and respect for the teachings she has received, Chiara keeps alive the authenticity of the family business, which today is a beautiful, all-round reality.
